The organisation of doctoral-level studies

PolandDoctoral studies in Poland are part of a faculty's activities and the activities of the Polish Science Academy. Doctoral candidates are affiliated to a research unit, a faculty / institute or a graduate school.

Doctoral candidates are systematically assigned a supervisor whose role is to provide scientific supervision, control the development of the thesis, organise meetings and group work for doctoral candidates, transfer know-how on methodology, share information on ongoing conferences and events on the topic the candidate is interested in and provide support in the formal process of gaining the doctoral degree.

The average length of a doctoral programme is three years.
