Internationalisation of higher education

Major policies and plans of the South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology  include the strengthening of the global competitiveness of universities and research institutions, the development of world-level science and engineering talents and the globalisation of education, science and technology. In this framework, the ministry wishes to increase the number of students in doctoral programmes and the outgoing mobility of South Korean talents.

The internationalisation of universities is also supported and the ministry encourages attracting foreign students and higher education institutions to South Korea, the establishment of exchange programmes and joint and double degrees.*
