Almudena BASANTA

Doctor

Ph.D. from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a specialization in dialectology and semantics. For 15 years she taught Spanish language and culture at European Institutions in Brussels (Belgium) for multilingual professionals. From 2004 to 2011 she was an assistant professor in the Department of International Business Communication in the Faculty of Applied Economics of the University of Antwerp (Belgium). From 2008 to 2012 she was an invited professor at the Faculté de Philosophie, Arts et Letters of the Université Catholique de Louvain. She joined the Language Acquisition Research Laboratory (LAR LAB) at the University of Ottawa directed by Juana M.Liceras in 2011. She currently teaches at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Québec. Her research interests are in the areas of language pedagogies, specifics languages, languages in contact and the history of Romance languages.
